Capacity planning is an important part of staff planning. Within Lowik Bouw, capacity planning includes two things: the personnel capacity required to carry out projects and the capacity that is actually available, taking into account leave, vacations, etc. However, making an up-to-date capacity planning is a challenge, as this requires the right data to be available and transparent.
At Lowik Bouw, the wish has arisen to have an easier overview and to always have up-to-date information regarding capacity planning. The data that is needed for this comes from AFAS, a widely used ERP package in the construction and manufacturing industries. However, processing this data into a clear schedule was a manual and time-consuming process.
